The Pre-University level spans two years, culminating in the General Certificate of Education Advanced (GCE ‘A’) Level examination.

Students will receive the GCE ‘A’ Level Certificate. Additionally, those in the Al-Azhar & ‘A’ Level stream will obtain a Certificate of Completion recognized by Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Mecca, Madinah, and Jordan.

Yes, students will also sit for the Madrasah Preliminary examination.

To apply for the Pre-University program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen.
  • Be between 17 to 19 years old.
  • GCE O-Level L1R4 aggregate of 26 points or lower.
  • A pass in Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK) and Arabic language.
  • Achieve a minimum “Jayyid” grade in their School Preliminary examinations.

There are two streams available:

  • Ukhrawi & ‘A’ Level Stream: Includes both School and ‘A’ Level Certificates.
  • ‘A’ Level Only Stream: Focused solely on obtaining the ‘A’ Level Certificate.

Stream placement is determined based on ‘O’ Level and School Preliminary results. The school reserves the right to assign students to classes or streams based on factors such as grades, class size and resource availability.

Students must:

  • Achieve an overall percentage of 55% in all religious and Arabic language subjects.
  • Pass Al-Quran.
  • Pass Arabic Language or Arabic Syntax (Insya’ or Nahu).

Students must pass:

  • Al-Quran.
  • Two AO/H1 subjects.
  • Two A/H2 subjects.

Yes, students who fail to meet the passing requirements may be required to repeat the year.

Applicants must have completed their ‘O’ Level examinations. Placement is based on the results of the ‘O’ Level and School Preliminary examinations.

Applications are typically open immediately after the release of ‘O’ Level results. Specific deadlines will be announced by the school.

Applicants need to submit their ‘O’ Level results, School Preliminary examination results, and other relevant documents as specified by the admissions office.

Yes, students from the Azhar stream may request a stream switch within the following window periods:
Pre-U 1:

  • Within Term 1
  • After Mid-Year Examination, before Term 3
  • After End of Year Examination, before Pre-U 2

No stream switch is allowed during Pre-U 2.

Yes, the Pre-University academic calendar is aligned with the secondary school calendar.

Yes, Pre-University students may be assigned leadership responsibilities based on their capabilities and the needs of the school community.

Parents can support their children by actively participating in their academic journey. This includes attending the mandatory annual Parent-Teacher Meetings to discuss their child’s progress and participating in workshops or additional meetings organized by the Madrasah as needed.

The Madrasah will organize and arrange leadership and volunteer programs, enrichment workshops, seminars, dialogue sessions, and even internships for students before graduating.

At present, the school’s Certificate of Completion is recognized by esteemed institutions such as Al-Azhar University in Egypt, universities in Jordan (Yarmouk University and University of Jordan), and institutions in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, students holding the A-Level Certificate may choose to pursue their studies at universities in Malaysia or local institutions, providing them with a wide array of academic opportunities.

Yes, most Islamic universities internationally recognize the A-Level Certificate as a valid qualification for admission.

As a private candidate for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level examinations, there is no minimum number of subjects you are required to register for. However, there is a maximum limit to the number of subjects you can take in each examination sitting. It is advisable to check the requirements of the universities or courses you plan to apply for, as they may have specific subject prerequisites.

The Arabic Language subjects (except Insya’ and Nahu) will be taught modularly to simplify the learning process and enhance understanding. This approach is designed for the benefit of the students, allowing them to focus on specific subjects systematically.
