Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Respected guest,

Welcome to Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah (MWTI), one of the six full-time madrasahs that offers co-education at primary, secondary and pre-university level.

Alhamdulillah, it is by Allah’s (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) will and decree that you are brought here. As principal of this madrasah, I am truly humbled and honoured to be given the privilege to share with you more about our madrasah’s mission, vision, history, curriculum and education pathways through our website.

The vision and mission of our madrasah is based upon our commitment to serve our Creator by moulding, nurturing and preparing our students to excel as Muslims living in the 21st century. We, the senior management, administrative personnel and teaching staff of MWTI, function as a closely-knit family. We strive to do whatever it takes to groom our students to become capable and responsible Muslims.

To reach this end, our madrasah offers a holistic and robust curriculum that focuses on the understanding of the two fundamental sources of Islamic jurisprudence – the Qur’an and Hadith (Prophetic Tradition). We also emphasise on the importance of language (e.g. Arabic, Malay and English Language) and progressively develop our students’ communicative competency at the primary, secondary and pre-university levels.

We challenge our students and at the same time, we equip all of them with the knowledge, skills and values necessary for them to sit for the PSLE, GCE ‘O’ and GCE ‘A’ level examinations. Aligned with the mainstream education system, we want all of them to thrive as Singaporeans with Iman, Ihsan and Itqan. We hope to produce students who are resilient, able to cooperate with others, have a sense of empathy and are able to contribute to our country’s nation-building and success. In Shaa Allah.

Alhamdulillah, the development of our madrasah’s students over the past few years has been significant. Our students are given many opportunities to discover their abilities and talents by actively taking part in co-curricular activities.

After 60 years of providing holistic education, MWTI’s alumnus has extended their services in both Muslim organisations (e.g. MUIS, PERGAS and others) and civil sectors.

In Shaa Allah, we will continue to build on the firm foundations that have been established by our very first and former Mudir, Almarhum Ustaz Mohd. Noor Bin Taib. To improve the quality of our students’ learning experience, we have renovated our school grounds and appointed several new teachers.

Ensuring that Madrasah Wak Tanjong continues to succeed is a great amanah to us. To achieve this, we require your support in all areas. We hope to continue to build stronger bonds with you. We value the endless contributions, in all forms – big or small – that we have received from the Malay-Muslim community in Singapore. May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) bless you and your family and grant you shade and ease in the Hereafter.

Nur ‘Ala Nur!
